Pat Lefemine & Charlie Rehor Of Bowsite Raise Almost $30,000 For The Pope and Young Club Conservation Fund.
A special thanks goes out to Bowsite's, Pat Lefemine and Charlie Rehor, plus all the Bowsiters who attended the website’s Meet and Greet during the P&Y Convention on Friday, April 12th. The Bowsite Meet and Greet instigated the raising of almost $30,000 earmarked for the Pope and Young Club’s Conservation Fund.
The Club’s Conservation Fund provides financial assistance to a wide array of projects and programs around North America to enhance and protect wildlife conservation and our bowhunting heritage. The Pope and Young Club provides grants annually to projects and programs in areas of wildlife research, education, pro-hunting and wildlife management. The Pope and Young Club is committed to the North American Model of Wildlife Conservation and the scientific-based management of our natural resources and the crucial role that hunters play in it. The Club has given over one million dollars to conservation programs across North America.
"Charlie came to my table just before Friday's dinner and said they'd raised over $13,000," said Doug Clayton, Conservation Chair for the Pope and Young Club. "I had to have him repeat it. Two men, Zack Walton and Jason Stafford offered to have their heads shaved with Bowsiter's paying for the privilege of lopping off some hair. Then Mark Watkins added $10,000 bringing the total to just over $13,000! However, Zack wasn’t done. In what's been referred to as the "noisy room," he helped raise a little over $5,000, and then on Saturday night, he challenged members to match money. Through that challenge, Stan and Heidi Goodin donated another $10,000 to the P&Y Conservation Fund. So, a total of just under $30,000 was raised! One huge "THANK YOU," to Pat, Charlie, Zack, Mark, Stan and Heidi, and everyone involved in this additional fundraising effort!"
