The Fred Bear Society is the Pope & Young’s premier major giving “society” whose members have given through a cash donation or legacy gift a substantial financial contribution to the Club. Gifts are donor-directed, tax-deductible and can be made to Pope & Young’s Endowment Fund, Conservation Fund or Area of Greatest Need. A cash pledge can be given over time to a maximum of 5 years. If installment, Member would be recognized at appropriate level after making the first cash installment payment. Since its inception in 2013, more than $1.4 million in Fred Bear Society cash gifts and $1.9 million in legacy gifts have been directed to Pope &Young

Due to the time value of money and the promise of cash payment in the future, a Legacy gift is 2X the Cash amount.
