Pope and Young to Attend 8th Annual John V. Mesh Memorial Sporting Clay Shoot
July 27th, 2023 - Pope and Young, America’s leading bowhunting conservation organization, will be joining the Mesh family at the 8th Annual John V. Mesh Memorial Sporting Clay Shoot on Saturday, Sept. 23rd, 2023 at the Powder Creek Shooting Park in Lenexa, KS. and invite you to join them in supporting this fundraising event for the John V. Mesh Memorial Scholarship, the premier scholarship in wildlife conservation. The event will feature raffles, auctions, giveaways, free meals, entertainment, and for those shooting, all shells will be provided for the day. All proceeds will go to the conservation scholarship fund to help continue furthering learning opportunities for those students interested in a profession in conservation. 

Last year’s scholarship recipient Jordan Barth, was presented the $25,000 scholarship to continue his schooling in Wildlife Management Biology at the Pope and Young Bi-annual convention in Reno.  To further support future scholarships opportunities, Pope and Young is donating a lifetime membership to the 8th Annual Memorial Shoot.

ABOUT THE JOHN V. MESH MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
On October 12, 2015, Firefighter John V. Mesh lost his life battling a fire in northeast Kansas City. John's greatest passion, behind only his family and the Fire Department, was the outdoors. While growing up, John spent countless hours in the woods with his father and older brothers learning about conservation and had spent the past several years passing this tradition on to his four daughters. To honor John's memory and legacy, The John V. Mesh Memorial Scholarship, a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to sponsoring learning opportunities for children and scholarships for those interested in a profession in conservation, was set up.
