Nevada Department of Wildlife Honored at Pope and Young Convention

Pope and Young, America’s leading bowhunting organization recently honored the Nevada Department of Wildlife with the Pope and Young Conservation Award.  This prestigious award is bestowed upon persons or organizations that promote the conservation and wise use of our nation’s natural resources in conjunction with the promotion and preservation of bowhunting and hunting.  The award was given during the 2021 Award Ceremonies at the Pope and Young 32nd Biennial Convention in Reno, NV. 

The Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW) is responsible for managing and conserving all game species and non-game species in the great state of Nevada.  Their conservation efforts have helped Nevada to develop and hold the largest population of bighorn sheep in the lower 48 states, including Rocky Mountain, Desert, and California Big Horns.  On hand to receive the award was NDOW Director, Tony Wasley.

“The Nevada Department of Wildlife has done a tremendous job of protecting and enhancing our natural resources, and Big Horn Sheep populations for all to enjoy” stated P&Y Executive Director Jason Rounsaville.  “The Pope and Young Club sincerely thanks them for all they have done for hunters and non-hunters alike, and it is an honor to present this award to such an outstanding department.”
