The Pope And Young Club Appoints
Dallas Smith To Board Of Directors
The Pope and Young Club is proud to announce the appointment of Dallas Smith to the Club’s Board Of Directors. As a Pope and Young Club member for the past 20 years and a measurer for 15 years, Dallas has attended eight conventions, co-chaired the 40th anniversary convention in Salt Lake City and served on the membership committee under Jeff Pals. Dallas will be filling the seat vacated by Jay St. Charles who recently resigned to attend to family health concerns.
“I would like to thank the Pope and Young Board for their vote of confidence and appointment to Jay's Director position,”
said Dallas. “I look forward to working with board members to insure the longevity and viability of the Club. Jay’s longtime
dedication and commitment to the Club is a testament to his ambassadorship to bowhunting. My thoughts and prayers are
with Jay and his family as they go though these trying times.”
As a resident of Utah for the past 26 years, Dallas, his wife Tammy and their 4 daughters, owned and operated their own flooring and design business. Prior to owning his own business, Dallas spent 25 years working in all aspects of the archery industry from manufacturing and distribution to retail sales.
“Working in the archery industry has fueled my passion for bowhunting and fostered long-term relationships within the bowhunting community,” said Dallas Smith. “I’ve been involved in archery clubs at both the state and local levels for more than 30 years. After an appointment from the Governor of Utah, I spent 10 years on an eleven-member panel known as the Central Rac. This panel was appointed to take public input on hunting and wildlife management in our state and make recommendations to the Fish and Game Department in order to connect the wants of the public to the needs of biology. To some bowhunting is a pastime, and to others, it’s a lifelong journey… a passion with commitment and dedication. No matter what bowhunting is to you, this Club should represent all members equally without prejudice. We are all bowhunters.”
“The Pope and Young Club is fortunate to have long-time, dedicated Club member, Dallas Smith step-up and offer to fill the vacant Director seat,” said Jim Willems, President of The Pope and Young Club. “Dallas has been active in ensuring the future of bowhunting in his home state of Utah and now he will be able to expand his efforts to the national level. The
Pope and Young Club is the foremost national bowhunting organization, working diligently to promote fair and ethical bowhunting across North America. I look forward to working with Dallas on the Pope and Young Club Board over the next few years.”
