The La Vista Hotel and Conference Center, located in Omaha, Nebraska, will be the site for the Pope & Young Club’s 31st Biennium Convention and Awards Banquet. This property has two hotels attached to the Center - Embassy Suites by Hilton and Courtyard by Marriott.
The convention starts 10am Wednesday, April 10th, and concludes after the 31st Biennium Awards Banquet, Saturday night, April 13th.

You will fly into Omaha Eppley Airfield (OMA). The La Vista Hotel and Conference Center is located approximately 20 miles from the airport. Coming soon, we will have shuttle discounts available to/from the airport to the Hotel. Of course you can rent a car or find another transportation service if you so choose.

Convention Registration Packets will be in the mail mid November. Registration and ticket sales will open in early December and may be purchased by order form or online.

#1 Lauitzen Gardens - Omaha Botanical Center & Joslyn Castle - Thursday, April 13, 8:30 am.
Lauritzen Gardens is a 100-acre living museum of unique four-season plant displays, maintained to the highest standards consistent with environmental stewardship. This garden is young, but is growing quickly with new gardens being added every year. Lauritzen Gardens is definitely a multi-sensory experience for all ages. End the private tour with a private lunch overlooking the glorious floral display hall. In 1903, George and Sarah Joslyn completed one of Nebraska’s greatest homes— a 35 room Scottish Baronial mansion atop a hill on Omaha’s western outskirts. The four-story house, which was completed at a cost of $250,000—about $7 million in 21st century dollars. The Castle includes a grand foyer, ballroom, library, conservatory, and drawing room. With the addition of a music room in 1907, the house totals 19,360 square feet. Joslyn Castle is on the National Register of Historic Places, and the estate is a proud member of the Nebraska Statewide Arboretum. $75.00 per person. Maximum of 20 people.
#2 Omaha Brewery Tour - Friday, April 12, 1:30 pm
Experience a sampling of the great beverages that the Omaha area has to offer. Tour includes stops at Patriarch Distillery, Kros Stain Brewing, Pint Nine Brewing and Nebraska Brewing Company & Tap Room. Registration includes admission and tasting at each location and transportation. $60.00 per person. Maximum of 55 people
#3 Strategic Air Command (SAC)Museum - Saturday, April 13, 8:00 am
Discover the history behind the aircraft that helped the Strategic Air Command preserve the peace during the Cold War with a private guided tour. The museum first opened in 1959 with the mission to commemorate the aircraft of the Strategic Air Command. The museum became well-known by giving the public the opportunity to visit an impressive array of aircraft that helped SAC preserve the peace during the Cold War. Registration includes admission into the museum and transportation. $35.00 per person. Maximum of 55 people
The Photo Competition is open to all Club members and their immediate family members. You do not need to be a “professional” photographer to participate. You need not be present at the convention to participate. All entrants are welcome.
SIX PHOTO CATEGORIES
WILDLIFE (COLOR) - Includes any normally a hunted species of wildlife (i.e., big & small game, waterfowl, predators and fish).
BOWHUNTING (COLOR) - Any activity a bowhunter may engage in, such as stalking game, camp scenes, hunting country, etc.
BLACK AND WHITE - Includes any b&w photo meeting the criteria of the “wildlife” or “bowhunting” categories.
TROPHY PHOTOS - Photos of a bowhunter and animal (i.e., trophy photos, harvest photos, etc.)
YOUTH PHOTOGRAPHER - Photos taken by kids. This includes all of the above classifications. Entrant must be 17 or younger.
YOUTH PHOTOS - Show off the kids! This can show kids in any outdoor activity, from hunting, to bow shooting, to fishing, etc.
HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR PHOTO
• Photo(s) must be 8 X 10 and mounted on foam core board. If you want one of your photos to be in more than one category, you must provide a separate photo for each category. Please attach form to the back of each photo submission. (download form here)
• Entries must be received at the headquarters no later than March 31, 2019.
• Emailed photos will NOT be accepted. • Photos will NOT be returned.
